Walking and Running Event Insurance

Enrollment by telephone is not permitted. You can apply for running event insurance or walk insurance coverage online or by completing an enrollment form and submitting it to K&K via e-mail, fax or mail. 

The general aggregate is the maximum amount available to be paid out in any policy period for all covered losses.

A certificate of insurance is a document evidencing the existence of coverage. If coverage is bound, you will receive a certificate of insurance following binding. You will need to complete the certificate request section if you have been asked to provide another certificate to a third party, such as the facility you are utilizing for your event.

No. You will receive a certificate of insurance as proof of coverage. By applying for this insurance, you are applying for membership in the Sports, Leisure and Entertainment Risk Purchasing Group (RPG), a group formed and operating pursuant to the Liability Risk Retention Act of 1986 (15 USC 3901 et seq.). Coverage is offered exclusively through the Sports, Leisure and Entertainment Risk Purchasing Group (RPG). The RPG receives a master policy from the insurance company. Submission of this enrollment form confirms your desire to receive coverage through the RPG. Each member receives their own certificate of insurance as evidence of coverage. The limits of insurance apply individually to each insured member organization - there are no shared limits of liability with any other members. Event insurance is often required for 5K races, charity walks, and fun runs, especially if you are using public spaces, parks, or third-party venues.

Coverage helps protect organizers if a participant or spectator is injured or if property is damaged during the event, and many municipalities require proof of liability insurance before approving permits. 

This program is designed for a wide range of events, including:

• 5K and 10K races
• Charity and fundraising walks or runs
• Fun runs and community walkathons
• Children’s races and non-competitive events

Both competitive and non-competitive events may be eligible, provided they meet program guidelines.

This program is intended for shorter-distance events and does not include full marathons or endurance events exceeding 16 miles.

Events such as mud runs, obstacle races, triathlons, and similar endurance competitions are not insured through this program.
